What is The Shed?

"The Shed" is the Alcoholics Anonymous mothership of Northeast Arkansas. We’re a fellowship of folks who come together to share our experience, strength, and hope, supporting each other in staying sober. There are no dues or fees to attend, and no one’s too young, old, or unqualified—if you’re ready to take the first step, you’ll find a seat waiting for you.

Our purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.

How it works

We use the Twelve Steps to achieve sobriety. We use the Twelve Traditions to stay unified.

A.A.’s Twelve Steps are a set of spiritual tools designed to help us live a new way of life. When we work them, they free us from the obsession to drink and guide us toward recovery from alcoholism.

The Twelve Traditions are the principles that hold A.A. together. They show us how to stay unified and how we interact with the world, ensuring we focus on our primary purpose.

The book Alcoholics Anonymous—or Big Book—explains our program of recovery. It also includes personal stories from our founders and members who’ve reached sobriety with A.A.
